Mike Retallick, a professor in the Department of Agricultural Education and Studies at Iowa State University, has been named department chair effective July 1. Dr. Retallick joined Iowa State in 2001 and currently serves as a professor in the department.
Dr. Retallick earned his bachelor's degree in agricultural education at the University of Wisconsin at Platteville, his master's degree in agribusiness from Kansas State University, and his doctorate in agricultural education from Iowa State.
Last year, Retallick was one of six educators to receive the National Association of Agricultural Educators Teacher Mentor Award. He also received the Iowa FFA Association’s 2015 Distinguished Service Award and was named the AgOnline 2014 Teacher of the Year by ISU’s Brenton Center for Agricultural Instruction and Technology Transfer.
