AAAE Standing Committees |
The work of AAAE is supported by the work of committees made of members. Each standing committee serves a specific role within the profession. Members volunteer to serve at the regional and national level. For more information on each of the committees, please select the committee below.
AAAE Standing Committees
| Commitee | Description |
| Academy of Fellows | The Academy of Fellows is composed of all AAAE Fellows and Senior Fellows. The Academy will elect a Chair each year during the annual meeting. The chair will coordinate the Academy's efforts to examine organizational priorities and undertake leadership initiatives appropriate to recognized association leaders, as requested by the President or Board of Directors |
| Audit & Finance | Annually reviews AAAE’s bookkeeping, government filings, financial policies, and budget, and reports its findings to the membership while advising the Board on financial matters. It is composed of three region-representative members nominated by the regional Vice Presidents. |
| Member Services | Maintains the membership directory, oversees website postings, and conducts annual supply/demand and periodic salary studies. It also reviews relevant governing documents, reports annually to the membership, and carries out additional actions to support member engagement |
| Selects regional representatives for the nominations committee, and reviews awards and nominations. It also provides leadership for planning and implementing professional development workshops and in-service activities at national meetings and submits annual budget requests specifically for those professional development activities, along with any other PD-related tasks | |
| Program Improvement | Identifies special interest groups, fosters collaboration within and beyond agricultural education, and advocates for improving teaching and learning in the field. It also provides professional leadership and coordinates the AAAE Poster Session, including managing poster leadership and awards. |

Promotes the dissemination of research through conferences, journals, and the AAAE website; recommends related policies; identifies leadership for the National Agricultural Education Research Conference; and recognizes member research achievements. It also fosters collaboration across regions, shares research funding opportunities, maintains connections with related societies and agencies, and carries out additional research-related tasks assigned by the membership or Executive Committee. |
| Teacher Education | Leads the coordination of the annual Teacher Education Caucus and oversees the selection of individuals responsible for the annual supply and demand study. It also encourages teacher educators to serve on key agricultural education boards, provides leadership for professional development at the NAAE Conference, updates and posts AAAE standards, and promotes dissemination of research and best practices in the Agricultural Education Magazine. |
Review and update the AAAE Constitution, Bylaws, and Standing Rules as they pertain to the committee; develop and request an annual budget for their activities; and provide an annual report to the membership summarizing committee meetings, discussions, and actions.
